Burnt Edges continued

Okay, here is a burnt edge picture trying it the way my friend Allie suggested. I like this look alot better, not so organized. Try it out everyone and let us know how you like it.

Hey Sabrina. That looks great! i will have to try it! So I noticed your cute watermark. Do you put it on all your pictures before you give them to people now? Very cute!

I was going to pass on some tips that Jen Chandler emailed the other day about getting eyes to "pop". I haven't really tried it yet, but you can see if you can figure it out. If you do, and can give more detailed directions, let me know. I am not really sure how to "bump up the saturation and use the unsharp mask tool". I haven't played around with anything yet though. Anyway, here is what she said:

"As for the eyes sometimes I use the glaussian blur and then paint brush over the whole person at a 25 percent opacity and then the eyes no mouth and other things with a 65 percent and then do everything at a 40 percent that will make the eyes pop.

But usually I just bump up the saturation a little bit and use the unsharp mask tool.

That will make them pop. It also helps to have a good lens."

I'm not sure what the "unsharp masking tool" is but what she is saying is that you make a duplicate layer and then filter>blur>gaussian blur. You can set it how blurry you want. Then, basically what you are doing is erasing the blur. I have never been able to get my mask to work right so I usually just use the eraser and set it at the different opacities. The saturation is when you hold down ctrl/alt/u and move the "saturation" knob to the right. This is the same window you use for hue saturation (sepia and etc.) Does that make sense?

Super! I like it because it's just SO simple. Anything you can do to simplify and save step (=time)...that still looks as good is my kind of thing.

I just did a big old photoshop post because some friends had been asking me for a loooong time (I'm slow). You can have a look if you want to right here. Feel free to ask questions if anything doesn't work like it should.

Make sure you right click on that link and open in a new window. Otherwise it may be a little smallish :)
